Welcome To DIY Reloading

The Comprehensive Resource For Reloading Your Own Ammo

What Is Reloading & Why Do It?

Handloading or reloading is the process of loading firearm cartridges or shotgun shells by assembling the individual components like case/hull, primer, powder, and bullet, rather than purchasing completely assembled or factory-loaded ammunition. Reloading is a simple process of sizing and priming a cartridge case, adding a powder charge to that case and seating a bullet on the charge.

There are several benefits to reloading your own ammunition. Many people handload because it's more cost effective, increases target accuracy, is environmentally conscious, and many do it just for fun. So, if you are a regular on the shooting range, reloading your empty rounds is a good way to save money and keep yourself stocked up.

There's no arguing that gun laws are under constant threat of regulators. Year after year more restrictions are being placed on firearms and rights are being revoked when it comes to accessories. It's only a matter of time before limits are imposed on the amounts of ammunition you can purchase from retailers or even the types of rounds that are available.

Learning how to reload your own ammunition is not only a great skill to have to help protect you against future regulations, but it can also help prepare you for when there are shortages or when your desired ammo type is not widely available.
